Red Edge Launches

Digital Advocacy Done Right

Red Edge partners Bret Jacobson and Ian Spencer started a digital advocacy company with a goal in mind: create a place where we fight for what we believe in, be proud of what we produce, and enjoy the people we work with. So far, so good!

“Red Edge applies world-class strategy and creative execution to our clients' pressing public affairs, public relations, and government affairs challenges.”

First On Snap

The Creepy Uncle Sam Campaign

We partnered with our client and production partner, Madison McQueen, to launch the first public affairs campaign to use Snapchat.

Seeking to add to an already staggering earned-media record and looking to drive engagement with the core audience, Generation Opportunity and Red Edge took the nationally known Creepy Uncle Sam character where no public advocacy had gone before – to Snapchat, the rapidly growing social messaging app.

Launched with an exclusive video release to Buzzfeed, this campaign was a strategic, innovative way for the client to reach their target demographic with creative messaging within a highly relevant platform for young adults. The campaign surpassed client ROI expectations for earned media and user engagement.

“a first-of-its-kind campaign.”

Your Rights Never Go Out of Style

As a pioneering advertising agency, Red Edge became one of the first firms to leverage Instagram advertising. It was the solution to a practical challenge: how do you grab the attention of high school students? Our entree was reaching high school history and civics students, as we cut through the clutter with a web-based interactive quiz website, SwiftYourRights.com and promoted on Instagram.

The results—measured in clicks, engagement, and completed quizzes—all outpaced standard curricula performance.

Engaging Citizens to Vote

Long gone are the Dark Age days of monarchs who impose their will on their subjects… or so we thought. Pennsylvania’s Governor Wolf, dubbed “King Wolf,” was unwilling to relinquish his pandemic powers. Our partnership successfully drove thousands of leads and tens of thousands of post reactions, comments, and shares. The creative also empowered citizens of the Commonwealth to speak out directly to their ruler by including Facebook comments in different creative iterations.

Swaying Public Interest

Partnering to Prevent Suicide

In working to reduce suicides involving firearms – and in partnership with the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) and Department of Veterans Affairs – the National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF) tasked Red Edge with bringing to light the stories of Caylen and Kass Wojcik.

Nothing was more important to our team than handling Caylen’s and Kass’s deeply personal and emotional stories with the utmost care and compassion. The final products emphasized how partnerships – like that between NSSF, AFSP, and the Dept. of Veterans Affairs – are crucial for increasing awareness of suicide prevention resources.

Suicide prevention heroes each increased interest in the firearm industry's safety programs by more than 20 percentage points among Democrat women

Expanding Education Access

Our approach to education advocacy is centered on empowering families through compelling creative content about education choice. Our strategy involves working with partners to tell real, local stories, often using filmed messenger advocates speaking in their own words to make the message relatable and memorable. This formula is designed to increase public support for school options, combat misperceptions, and drive enrollment. We emphasize a tailored approach that creates an ROI-positive combination of education, persuasion, and enrollment by tracking families through a strong pipeline management system.
